Bio
Devon Geyer writes supernatural American songs—vivid, offbeat, and emotionally rich. Clowns, trust-fund kids, washed-up wrestlers and weary dreamers amble through his verses, drawn with humor, heartbreak, and an unmistakable voice. Inspired by the likes of Gram Parsons, The Band, Terry Allen, and the golden era of ‘70s country, folk, and rock, Geyer crafts story-driven songs that feel deeply personal and mythic.
His roots in music run deep. From the age of 7, Devon got his start playing jazz and blues with his father, acclaimed musician and songwriter Stephen Geyer who's written songs for artists like Glen Campbell and John Denver. Growing up around that level of craft gave him reverence for classic songwriting and the confidence to experiment.
He studied writing and production at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship from the age of 17 where he learned how to build songs from the inside out. From 2012 to 2017, he fronted the indie rock band Decorations, producing an EP with Mike Malchicoff (Kanye West, King Princess) that landed him an appearance at SXSW and a record deal with Frenchkiss Records for a full length LP. Devon has also had his songs appear on popular networks like ABC and Disney, and produced albums for Paige Calico, Steps of Doe, and Gary Dayton Hill among others.
Since 2017, Geyer has toured extensively across the U.S. and internationally as a guitarist with The Everly Brothers Experience, honing his live chops and deepening his love of classic American music. Along the way, he’s worked with a range of artists such as Danny Elfman, Daniel Johnston, Lorely Rodriguez, Burleigh Drummond (Ambrosia), Sam Small (ManMan), Brian Arnold (Passion Pit) and many more. Some notable credits include performances with the New West Symphony and live on The Ellen Show with Phillip Michael Scales.
As a producer and multi-instrumentalist, Geyer moves easily between the shadows of Americana and the sharper edges of Indie, always with an ear for detail and pathos. His latest release, Savier’s Grocery Store, is a sharply drawn story song that showcases the lyrical craft, emotional depth, and slightly sideways humor that have become his trademark.
Based in Southern California, Geyer is a father and husband, a gardener and cook, and a devoted coffee drinker. He brings songs to life with grit, grace, and a storyteller’s sense of timing—turning every performance into a conversation that feels honest, musical, and deeply human.
